Each product must feel unique and collectible while remaining aligned with established league, team, athlete, and product-brand guidelines.

The work requires balancing:

  • Strong visual storytelling

  • Product consistency

  • Accurate asset usage

  • Color and print requirements

  • Fast production schedules

  • Multiple parallels and product variations

  • Licensing and brand standards

  • Technical file preparation

THE CHALLENGE

The creative direction for each product begins with the athlete, sport, product story, and intended collector experience.

I use composition, typography, lighting, texture, color, and hierarchy to build visual energy while maintaining the clarity required for a small-format physical product.

Every decision must also account for how the design will reproduce in print.

My process generally includes:

  1. Review the brief and product requirements

  2. Collect and prepare approved assets

  3. Explore composition and visual direction

  4. Develop the selected concept

  5. Adapt the system across product variations

  6. Prepare production-ready artwork

  7. Complete quality-control checks

  8. Address feedback and finalize delivery

DESIGN APPROACH

The work supports high-volume collectible releases while maintaining visual quality, production accuracy, and consistency across athletes, teams, sports, and product configurations.

The experience has strengthened my ability to balance creative execution with technical requirements, complex workflows, and demanding deadlines.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Python Automation

I built a python tool that automates the recoloring of production assets. What used to take hours of manual work now happens in minutes - improving accuracy, consistency, and speed.

Preparing production PDFs required repetitive manual tasks including merging files, splitting documents, organizing outputs, and maintaining naming conventions.

THE CHALLENGE

Built Python utilities that automate common production workflows, including:

  • Merge PDFs

  • Split PDFs

  • Preserve page order

  • Batch rename files

  • Organize production folders

  • Prepare delivery packages

THE SOLUTION

BUSINESS IMPACT

  • Faster production preparation

  • Reduced repetitive manual work

  • Lower risk of production errors

  • More consistent file management

InDesign Data Merge Automation

I helped establish a data-driven production workflow using Excel as the source of truth and connecting that information directly to an InDesign card template through Data Merge.

Computer-Vision Quality Assurance

I began exploring a computer-vision workflow that could compare generated assets against approved references and flag possible visual inconsistencies for human review.
